By advancing the
interests of the manipulator, often at another's expense, such methods could be
considered exploitative, abusive, devious and deceptive. Depending on the
context and motivations, social influence may constitute underhanded
manipulation.
One of the manipulators’
methods is the creation of expectations in the public. This, by the way, is one
of the practices of the stage hypnotists and the illusionists.
In religious indoctrination, the perpetual waiting for
the second coming of Christ or the Messiah is a good example of this technique
of mind control.
Day after day, the
ET-UFO professionals insist in their fallacy: the Disclosure is Imminent.
For some reason a few people believes in this “promise” and will go on
financing the new priests of the technological religion of the Aliens and UFOs.
But this means not only a marketing method but a
dishonest manipulation. People waiting for the disclosure become anxious and in
many cases loss interest in their daily life and work and the constant waiting
becomes destructive and negative.
This is truly serious because nobody has the right to use
other people’s anxiety and hopes in his own benefit.
