Exopolitical Fallacies

We wrote already about Exos fallacies such as Ad Hominem attacks; but they also incurr in the fallacy called the Appeal to Authority.
An appeal to authority is an argument from the fact that a person judged to be an authority affirms a proposition to the claim that the proposition is true.
Appeals to authority are always deductively fallacious; even a legitimate authority speaking on his area of expertise may affirm a falsehood, so no testimony of any authority is guaranteed to be true.
However, the informal fallacy occurs only when the authority cited either (a) is not an authority, or (b) is not an authority on the subject on which he is being cited. If someone either isn’t an authority at all, or isn’t an authority on the subject about which they’re speaking, then that undermines the value of their testimony.Let me give you a few samples. A couple of lawyers, one of them a previous judge, tell us that there is life in Mars. Cities, roads, people like us walking, etc. These lawyers tell us that NASA and all the Observatories in the whole world are wrong or are part os a giant conspiracy to deny this martian life. Our Lawyers, our judges can be wise, brilliant lawyers or judges but also they can be perfectly ignorant on Astronomy and Astrophysics.Same can be said of some Doctors in Medicine or Resolution of Conflicts. Probably they are right when they talk about therapeutic methods or International Diplomacy, but this has nothing to do with Mysticism, New Age, Solar Initiations, Subterranean Cities or the Flying Saucers of Hitler. The frequent use of this fallacy means that they don't know what they are talking about, OR that they are keeping the low profile of the UFO Phenomenon . Talking and writing stupidities concerning Ufology is the best way to keep UFOs in the lowest levels of pop culture. In other words, EXOS are doing what the Gov. wants: keeping the Good Minds in denial of the UFO phenomenon.
