EVIDENCES we need about Extraterrestrial Presence in our planet

Evidence we need

  • Images taken by the aliens of their own homeworld.
  • A sample of alien DNA (or the equivalent).
  • Emission spectroscopy of the light emitted by the UFOs
  • Exotic material never yet produced on Earth, perhaps as part of "UFO" wreckage.
  • A mathematical proof which would be quite routine for the alien but which has not been solved by us on Earth at this time.
  • Similarly, any technology or scientific theory - unification of quantum mechanics and relativity would be nice.

 Evidence we got

  • Blurry pictures of hubcaps captured mid-toss.
  • Unsteady handheld video of some lights floating in the darkness which could well be the parking lot of a desert roadhouse a half-mile away.
  • A black dot seen in two frames.
  • Anecdotes and stories - but never photographic evidence - of closer encounters with spacecraft.
  • Pictures created by a "how to make your own UFO" guide.
  • Project Blue Book, cataloguing every UFO story anyone bugged the USAF with for eighteen years and listing why pretty much every one was conventionally explicable.

Conclusions on evidence

Now with the wide spread of cheap mobile phone cameras, high quality point & shoot cameras, as well as cheap, high definition handheld recorders an influx of much clearer and well-focused, UFO recordings are expected. Any time now. Aaaaaany time now... indeed, the quality of UFO evidence has not increased with the technological ability to capture it.

UFO proponents usually defend the lack of evidence based on a form of special pleeding for UFOs. Perhaps science shouldn't discount eyewitnesses, no matter how drunk, or should drop some of its intellectual rigour for the sake of UFOs - say, to forget about reproducing any experiments, as most of the time no two UFO reports ever cite the same details with true independence.

Richard Dolan's and the "complex question" logical fallacy.

The Complex Question Fallacy:
Richard Dolan writes:
“Some believe this is as it ought to be. Can the public really handle the truth about aliens?  If the presence of others constitutes a threat to humanity, for example, what could the average person even do about it?”
The question here implies that there is something already known about aliens. The inexpert reader will have the impression that the question is not if there are aliens on our planet or in any other place of the Universe. The fallacy tries to make this pass as a known fact asking the average person if she/he is ready for the “truth”.
If you want to catch the fallacious writer, just ask him this: what truth about aliens?
If the fantasists replies that he is talking about the truth of the ET presence on our planet; you should ask him: Can you show me clear and reliable evidence probing the ET presence in our Earth?
This of course will finish the exchange. Probably you will be insulted and called debunker or troll. They cannot give you a satisfactory answer.
If the illusionist tries to sell you a book, the question must be:
Will I find in this book clear and reliable evidence about the presence of Extraterrestrials in our planet?
If the fallacious speaker says YES, ask him to show you the page where the evidence is clear, reliable and obvious.
He cannot show that evidence. Nobody can, simply because there are no extraterrestrial civilizations visiting our good old Earth.

A couple of ad hominem attacks.

What else can they do? Since they cannot give a rational answer to our demand of evidences, the use the insult,

Dave Garbett (amigo de Richard Dolan) también comentó el estado deRichard Dolan.
Dave escribió: "Is Tomas real? Don't real people have better things to do than nonsensical trolling (actually don't answer that one). I'm calling fake on Tomas. You there Tomas??"

Richard Dolan Tomas, why even bother posting this? It is not even an analysis, but mere trash talk posing behind pseudo intellectual rhetoric.

The UFO+ET subculture in perpetual crisis.

A subculture is a group of people within a culture that differentiates them from the larger culture to which they belong. The term subculture has become deprecated among some researchers, who prefer the term co-culture, in order to avoid the connotations of inferiority associated with the "sub-" prefix. While exact definitions vary, the Oxford English Dictionary defines the term as "a cultural group within a larger culture, often having beliefs or interests at variance with those of the larger culture." The sub prefix should not be seen as pejorative.

The UFO=ET world is in fact a subculture, but in perpetual crisis, since from the beginning UFO=ET cranks try to make us believe that interest on ETs, UFOs, Contactees, Cosmic nonsense, pseudo-science and space age mythologies is social and massive, but this is not true of course.

Other sub-cultures like the “Goths” or the Punks are even proud to be isolated but this is not the case with UFO fans.

If we read carefully the rhetoric of cosmic mythologists, Exopoliticians and conspiracy theorists associated with this belief system, we will find this obvious contradiction.
These “experts” in what doesn't exist, talk “to the world”, but truth is that the people doesn't care about them and their inventions.

Of course, the UFO=ET fantasists are responsible for this isolation, since their mythology is contradictory, unreliable and incoherent.

Structural analysis of the ufological narrative.

Structuralism argues that there must be a structure in every text, and in any narrative. From the structuralist perspective it is possible to interpret any narrative because everything that is written seems to be governed by specific rules, or a "grammar of narrative”.

The whole Ufology is in fact a narrative with clear structural elements.

In the fifties, while the world was fighting the so called cold war, UFOs like those visualized by Kenneth Arnold, the man who claimed to have seen nine unusual objects flying in a chain near Mount Rainier, Washington on June 24, 1947 brought the basic element to the story.

Were defined in the context of the constant threat of a nuclear conflagration, consequently, a modern mythology was built  through the paradigm of good aliens coming to our Earth with the purpose of stopping the nuclear threat.
Since there was no evidence of such development, good aliens become the enemies of the establishment, so we have now the following narrative structure: the bad government-scientific statu quo against the good extraterrestrials trough denial of ETs existence.
The obvious consequence of this confrontation brought a new structural element to the ufological narrative: the conspiracy theory.

This conspiracy theory had several functions. Kept the story alive and justified the lack of evidence about the ET presence with the hypothesis of the cover-up.
Since the narrative structure required some kind of contact between humans and ETs, the contactee element was added to the previously described structural elements.
So we arrive to the following model: Good aliens-bad government-cover-up conspiracy-individual contactees.

Of course, the narrative demanded characters, and men in black were brought to the scenario.
In the contactees narrative, there was no evidences of a real contact between humans and an advanced extraterrestrial civilization, consequently the ET=UFO narrative included personal mythologies and also bad aliens presumably conspiring with the authorities against the people. The Betty and Barney Hill abduction on September 19, 1961 gave us a new structural element to the ufological narrative: the ET abductions.
On the positive side we have Good Aliens-contactees-self proclaimed experts-researchers and the disclosure groups.
On the negative, opposite side we find Bad Aliens-authorities-conspirative science-abductions-men in black.
We must remember also that books, lectures, videos and pseudo-science created a market for the ufological narrative in other words the industry of Aliens-UFO-Conspiracy.

From a rational perspective we must be aware that the absolute lack the evidences to prove the existence and presence of these extraterrestrials, makes all this ufological narrative a fiction that is the worst enemy of any serious, scientific research.
